Safeguarding and child protection
Most of our students are children, so how we protect them matters more than anything else on this website. These are the rules every teacher at QuranLearnOnline works under, and what you as a parent can expect and check.
Before a teacher takes a class
- Identity verified from official photo identification before any class is assigned
- Qualifications and Ijazah checked with the issuing teacher or institution where applicable
- References taken from a previous institution or teacher
- A written safeguarding and conduct agreement signed by every teacher
- A trial period during which classes are reviewed by the academy
During every class
- Classes are one to one between the assigned teacher and the student — no unknown adults join
- A parent or guardian may join, watch or listen to any class at any time, without notice
- Classes take place in the academy’s own classroom, reached from the student portal, never on a teacher’s personal video account
- Teachers keep to the lesson: no discussion of a child’s personal or family matters beyond what is needed to teach
- Cameras may be off for adult sisters who prefer audio only; for children we recommend camera on so the parent can see the class is as expected
Contact outside class
- All scheduling, fees and messages go through the academy, not through private teacher accounts
- Teachers do not contact students on personal social media or add them as contacts
- Teachers do not ask a student for photographs, personal addresses, school details or family financial information
- Communication about a child is with the parent or guardian, not privately with the child
Recordings and data
- A class is recorded only with the parent’s written consent, and recordings are shared only with that family and the academy
- Student records hold the minimum needed to teach: name, contact details, course, schedule, attendance and progress
- Records are kept on secure servers with access limited by role: a teacher sees only their own students
- You may ask for a copy of your child’s records, or ask us to delete them when classes end
If something concerns you
Tell us immediately, by WhatsApp, email or through the contact form, and ask for the academy administrator rather than the teacher. You never need to give a reason to request a different teacher, and we will make the change without question.
Serious concerns are investigated by the academy, the teacher is suspended from classes while that happens, and we will keep you informed of the outcome. Where a concern involves the safety of a child, we will also advise you to contact the relevant authorities in your own country and will cooperate fully with them.
Parents: we would rather hear a concern that turns out to be nothing than have you stay quiet about something that matters.
